How to see your Doctor or other Health Professional
We have two systems to see your doctor:
Open Surgery each weekday morning. The Surgery opens at 8.30am. If you arrive before 10am you can always see a doctor, usually your own. You may have to wait as patients are seen in turn. Open Surgery can be very busy so, if you have complex problems, it would be better to make an appointment.
By appointment. Please contact Reception for an appointment. This will normally be with your own doctor, but if you need to be seen urgently, this may not always be possible.
Health Visitors: A Health Visitor is available to see children under 5 years between 9am and 10am every weekday morning except Thursdays. If you have concerns about any of the following problems, please ask to see the Health Visitor:- Feeding or sleep problems, head lice, fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash/spots, thrush, constipation, sticky eyes or eczema.
Practice Nurses: Offer appointments each weekday between 8.30am and 5.30pm for general nursing care, health checks, travel advice and vaccination and clinics for long term conditions
Telephoning your Doctor
Where a face-to-face consultation is not necessary eg test results, advice or medication query, please contact Reception before 10.30am if possible. Your doctor will normally ring you back later that morning.
