Noticeboard

Open Surgery
Open Surgery each weekday morning. If you arrive before 10am you can always see a doctor, usually your own. You may have to wait as patients are seen in turn. Open Surgery can be very busy so, if you have complex problems, it would be better to make an appointment.

Out of Hours
We are closed between 6.00pm and 8.30am weekdays and on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. If you need a doctor urgently when we are closed, please telephone Oxford 778244.

Home Visits
If you are too frail or sick to attend surgery, please contact Reception before 10.30am if possible. If you explain to the Receptionist exactly what is wrong, it will help the doctor see the most urgent cases first.

Responsibilities

Our Responsibilities to you:

  • We will treat you with courtesy, respect & sensitivity at all times;
  • We will endeavour to maintain the highest standards of medical practice at all times;
  • We will keep your medical record, including computer data, strictly confidential and only pass essential information if others involved in your care have a genuine need for it;
  • We will not disclose information about you to those outside the NHS without your permission other than in exceptional circumstances eg when the health and/or safety of others may be at serious risk;
  • We will give you access to your medical records on request, but this may be limited in your own or others interests. If you want a copy, a charge may be raised.

Your Responsibility to Us:

  • Please cancel appointments you cannot keep or no longer need giving as much notice as possible. This may allow another patient to be seen;
  • Please treat your doctor and staff as you would expect to be treated by them – with courtesy and respect;
  • Please think twice before asking for a home visit. These are very time consuming and the facilities and equipment available at the surgery make this a much better place to treat you;
  • Please remember that you can obtain health advice elsewhere eg your local Pharmacy (Chemist) or from NHS Direct;
  • Please note that you only need a Medical Certificate (Sick Note) if you are away from work for 8 days or more. If you are off work for less than this your employer should operate a self- certification procedure;
  • Our doctors and staff have a right to care for others without being attacked or abused. We follow a policy of zero tolerance towards unacceptable behaviour and severe or persistent cases of violence (physical or verbal) will result in removal from our list of patients.
